Professional: Upon graduation, I will obtain a Commission in the United States Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer. I am anticipating that my time spent at Old Dominion University will assist me in my postgraduate career as a Naval Officer. Understanding social organizations and how they operate coupled with the skills needed to be an effective communicator provides a unique skill set. Each major will contribute to my leadership capabilities. However, the knowledge gained in communication tactics will be consequential. Communication is the keystone to effective leadership.
Academics: My college career began again in 2014 at Old Dominion University. I am studying Communications with an emphasis in Lifespan and Sociology. These areas of study interface well together. I am expecting to graduate May 2018.
Biography: I grew up in West Point, Virginia and graduated from West Point High School in 2007. In 2009, I completed my Associate's Degree at Rappahannock Community College. The following year I joined the United States Navy and relocated to Great Lakes, Illinois. While completing Electronics Technician training, I met my spouse, Joshua Stuckey, we were married in 2012. Our family grew in 2014 with the addition of two beautiful Siberian Huskies; Kona and Lexi. In January of 2017, we welcomed Andrew Larson Stuckey into the world.
