Seeking Insight? I did!

As part of my curation for this ePortfolio, I chose to seek insight from an ePortfolio Peer Mentor. As discussed in my previous blog, I indicated all the changes that took place during curation. Included is also the change that I made based upon the recommendation of my ePortfolio Peer Mentor. However, the point of this post is to specifically discuss the reasoning and implementation of that specific change.

After looking at my Wix account, my ePortfolio Peer Mentor was very pleased with the professional appear of my page. Her main take away for me was that if I wanted to improve my page I should incorporate the use of buttons. Full disclosure, I honestly did not even know what buttons where and what they were really used for. She took a few moments to explain to me how a button worked and how to insert. After which, I realized that buttons are just a fancy way to hyperlink a document. We discussed where they were most useful. In doing such, it was determined that the use of buttons would be more aesthetically pleasing then the pdf clip art that I was using as the hyperlink icon to my documents on the “Projects” page. I agreed with her judgement and put her advice into action. When you visit my “Projects” page now, the titles of the works are buttons that are hyperlinked to the documents. Therefore, readers must simple click and be amazed!
